Key Features - MX948R
REPLACEABLE BOLT-IN LINER
Save time by easily replacing the AR400 steel wear plates on the MX948R without needing to remove the rotor.
ADJUSTABLE BELT TENSIONER
The adjustable belt tensioner ensures the proper tension of your belts, with no extra idler wheel that could wear out. Simply loosen the bolts and raise the motor mount to tighten the belt.
OPTIONAL TWO-SPEED MOTOR
To maximize the rotor speed and torque to account for changing mulching material, the MX948R is available with a variable two-speed motor option.
BENT AXIS PISTON MOTORS ARE A STANDARD OPTION
Our industry leading bent axis piston motors make the most use of your hydraulic flow and pressure for your brush clearing needs.
CASE DRAIN – VENT TO ATMOSPHERE
To prevent pressure relief activation on the motor seal, the MX948R comes with a case drain line and a vent to atmosphere relief valve. In the event there is a spike in pressure in your hydraulic lines, the case drain will relieve the pressure and drain it back into the return line and back to the tank. If the connection of the case drain (third line) is missed or if the line is blocked, then the case drain will vent to notify you. A properly installed case drain protected by a vent to atmosphere relief valve will save the work of replacing your shaft seal and save you from down time of unexpected maintenance. WIRE PROTECTION KIT
If you are mulching and you catch some old fence wire, it can really cause damage to the unit if the wire slips over the edge of the rotor and gets wrapped around the shaft. The wire can get bunched against the bearings, causing major damage. Our wire protection kit contains a welded raised area on the end of the rotor that protects the shaft and prevents wire from getting in.
CHAIN CURTAIN
The rear of the unit is guarded by a 3/8” thick chain curtain so standing brush enters and mulched debris exits.
Root rake teeth
The MX948R are equipped with a root rake for pushing fallen logs or other debris out of the way. These are replaceable bucket-style scrapper teeth.
6 FREE TEETH
All MX948R Brush Mulchers come with a free set of 6 replacement teeth. These replacement teeth can be conveniently stored in the enclosed spare tool compartment.
EASY ACCESS GREASE FITTINGS
Reduce your regular maintenance time by easily greasing the bearings on the MX948R from outside the frame. No tools required.
OVERTORQUE PROTECTION - RELIEF VALVE
The relief valve protects the motor and the hydraulic system from pressure spikes. When an obstacle is hit the relief valves open and relieves the pressure.
REINFORCED BELT
A heavy duty reinforced belt delivers the force from the gear box to the rotor. This offers protection from the shocks inherent in mulching.
POWDERED COATED
Our powder coat finish is much tougher than conventional paint to stand up to the rigors of mulching and helps prevent rusting.

Not sure if the attachment you're considering will fit your machine? Here’s a complete guide to ensuring attachment compatibility.
1. Attachment Mounting Type
Your machine’s mounting plate must match the attachment’s plate for a proper fit. While most manufacturers now follow a "universal" standard, making many attachments interchangeable, there are still exceptions—so always double-check compatibility.
2. Hydraulic Connections and Flow Rate
If the attachment requires hydraulics, ensure that both the machine and attachment have compatible hydraulic couplers. Additionally, the machine’s auxiliary hydraulic flow rate must fall within the attachment’s required range. If the attachment doesn’t use hydraulics, you can skip this step.
3. Machine Lift Capacity
Your machine’s rated operating capacity (ROC) must be able to handle the attachment’s weight. For attachments like buckets and concrete mixers, don’t forget to factor in the weight of the material they’ll be carrying to avoid exceeding your machine’s limits.
